"I hate science!" Making science FUN for kids
Maryland Science Center - Baltimore, Maryland

* Recommended by Travel with Humor *

Drop your books at the door... the Maryland Science Center makes learning fun again!

Imagine yourself as an astronaut, building your own working space rover vehicle and piloting it over the rough terrain by remote control.  See what it's like inside a space suit and what the astronauts see as they look out of their space helmets...

Think you'll never get to experience this because you've put on a few pounds and years and you just can't make it in the space program?  Think again!  The Maryland Science Center makes dreams a reality -- right in their own building!

Kids and adults alike will enjoy learning about science in a hands-on and fun atmosphere where Newton's Laws of Physics are just as fun as the traveling exhibit Animal Grossology.

Where else can you learn all about animals (inside and out), in such a uniquely disgusting manner (if you have kids, you'll know what I mean), that you will never forget what you've learned?  The Animal Grossology exhibit goes from insects to mammals, and from one end to the other, engaging every sense to learn science from an entirely "kid-approved" perspective.

Staff members wander the center, engaging people in scientific experiments, and making it all so much fun that you don't even realize you're learning something.

Stick your hand inside of a machine-generated mini-tornado and learn about how the destructive forces work.

Cast yourself onto a far planet and learn what it would be like to live there (or not).  Experience static electricity and bring a friend along for the shocking ride.

Huge dinosaurs stretch towards the ceiling...stretching the imagination as well, and transporting observers back in time when these beasts were alive.

With a planetarium, IMAX theater, and a huge building filled with exhibits, learning, and interaction, you should plan on spending all day long immersing yourself in the science of fun.
